The 15mm Accordion CoAx Stone Control Device provides physicians a means to prevent antegrade stone fragment migration during percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).
The Accordion CoAx device can be introduced over a 0.035 or 0.038 guidewire using either an antegrade or retrograde approach.
The large, compliant 15mm diameter occlusion conforms to and fills most structures in the proximal urinary tract and is designed to prevent migration of stone fragments into the ureter.
Unlike balloon catheters, the multi-fold film occlusion and over-the-wire design combine to provide a stable platform that is not easily displaced during the fragmentation process.
Radiopaque shaft and film markers allow easy monitoring of device advancement and deployment using fluoroscopy.
The hydrophilic coating and short, tapered tip facilitate atraumatic entry either transcutaneously or into the ureteral orifice.
The handles ratcheting slider provides positive tactile feedback of the occlusion film deployment and undeployment.

Retrograde Access
Using a retrograde approach, the guidewire can be removed and contrast media may be injected through the central lumen to conduct a retrograde pyelogram for diagnosis and targeting

Antegrade Access
Using an antegrade approach, the low profile shaft allows introduction either alongside or inside the nephrostomy sheath
